Having been diagnosed with infertility in May 2008 and facing tons of medical treatments that might not ever pay off to anyone except the medical community, we decided to pursue an adoption plan to start our family! We began researching our options back in June and our homestudy was complete on November 11, 2008.
On January 20, 2009, we were matched with a birth mother in Michigan (who now lives in Maryland). Our daughter Leah was born April 8, 2009 in Baltimore, MD. We took her home from the hospital on April 10, 2009 and back to Virginia on April 17th. We became her legal guardians April 27th and are now going through the post-placement legal process. Hopefully she'll be fully ours by the end of 2009!
